The Naoko's Fairy Wrasse Cirrhilabrus naokoae originates from the waters of the Indian Ocean where it is found among shallow waters of coral reefs. Is has a dorsal fin shaped like a shark fin. It is also known as the Shark Fin Fairy Wrasse and the Naoko's Fairy Flasher Wrasse.

Wrasses are hermaphrodites that are born female and can become male later in life. Females display an overall red color with thine bluish white horizontal stripes across its body. The male is generally brighter and flashier than the female and as a result are more commonly sold in the aquarium industry. Adult males are red, yellow and white with a black pectoral fin, black, red and blue anal and dorsal fins, but its colors may vary depending on the fish's mood. Males can be housed alone or as part of a harem.
