Overview
The 3-Stripe Damselfish, also known as the Three Striped Damselfish, White-tailed Damselfish, and Humbug Dascyllus, is a popular fish. Three bold black bands are separated by two white bands with a smaller bar of white to offset the tail.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium is suitable with plenty of hiding places. Due to its aggressive behavior as an adult, it will do well with other moderately aggressive fish in a community tank. It will not harm invertebrates or disturb the tank setting.
It will need a diet of meaty items, herbivore preparations, and flaked foods.

These fish are great additions to any tank. They are not very aggressive, especially if you pair them with fish slightly bigger than they are.

I have one in my semi-aggressive tank and this one is very active swimmer. Likes to hang out with my Blue Tang. It even sleeps near the Blue Tang's sleeping quarter. So far it shows no aggresive behavior.

My three striper is great. He shares a tank with a Humu Triggerfish. Likes to hang around a fake coral I have. Best kept with larger fish. He stressed out a Chromis to the point of the fish starved to death. A small fish with a large attitude.

My little three stripe is afraid of it's own shadow for the most part. At first it loved my new percula, but did not want it in it's live rock cave and would chase it out. Today they stay in there together and swim together. Considering adding in three green chromis, but a little leery to do so in case the aggression comes out with age.
