Overview

The Blue Dot Grouper, also known as Bluespotted Grouper, Argus Grouper or Peacock Hind, is primarily mottled brown in color. The fins are dark, and light blue dots cover the entire body. The posterior section of the body has six vertical bands of white.

A 250 gallon or larger aquarium is required due to the size and feeding habits of this fish. It is extremely aggressive and may eat its tank mates as well as crustaceans.

The Blue Dot Grouper prefers a diet of meaty foods such as krill, shrimp, and other small fish.

Approximate Purchase Size: Small: 2" to 3"; Medium: 3" to 5"; Large: 5" to 7"; X Large: 7" to 9"

Customer Testimonials

Paul Pigott Santa Barbara , CA
Amazingly beautiful fish, and by far the fastest fish I have in my tank. Changes color depending on situation - usually a beautiful black to orange covered in brilliant blue dots. Aggressive eater, but kind to all other fish.
