I had this little guy for about a month and he is doing great! His favorite spot to perch is at the top of my live rock, wathing out for food. When I first got him, I gave him mysis shrimp but now he likes to eat marine flakes. He sometimes likes to pick on my firefish but usually leaves him alone. When I get ready to feed, my hawkfish is always ready, hovering in the water ready to eat. These fish are always on the look out and love to watch you. They are an awesome fish to watch and area good beginner fish. You will love these fish!

This fish is a family favorite. It really has great PET qualities and will beg to be fed. Not a picky eater either.

Neat looking addition, and enjoys watching people and everything in the tank. Very hardy eater and very peaceful. If you like unusual looking fish this is a good choice.

Fantastic Hawkfish. Easy to care for and a great addition to any marine tank. Mine is not aggressive. Likes to hang out at the top of the tank and survey his domain.

I have kept at least six of these fish so far. They seem to appreciate high vantage points and sturdy places on which to perch. These fish are very fast swimmers and if stressed out they will flop around at the surface of the water like a motorboat gone haywire. They will dine on small decorative shrimps and fish smaller than themselves, (such as gobies, blennies, and dottybacks) so think twice about introducing one into your reef tank. They are compatible with any species of tang, angel, or butterflyfish. They will get along with most wrasse species, small lions (preferably dwarf species), clowns, damsels, cardinals, boxfish, puffers, batfish, and maybe one or two species of triggerfish. My hawks all loved to eat freeze-dried plankton, but I'm sure they would also like live brine shrimp. Overall, this is a great fish to start with in a marine aquarium and it should bring enthusiasm for years to come.

The Longnose Hawkfish has to be one of the most unique fish due to its eating pattern. Don't be fooled by its skinny mouth; it can open up wide! Mine eats twice a day and at each feeding he gets about five shrimp and a few bites of squid, swallowing each piece in full. This is a fun and extremely hardy fish. He lives in my 125-gallon tank with Fire Shrimp, Sleeper Gobies, Clowns, Flounder, Catfish, and some other fish.

One of my tank favorites due to his perching up on my glass magnet half the day which I leave inside on the top right of my tank. That is his watchtower. He shoots out when I come by, or when fed but, otherwise it's the magnet or one of the leather corals in the evening. He swims very hard with all tail when he's on the move and has beautiful colors for an inexpensive fish. The only fish I have seen him quarrel with are the Dottybacks, due to their shape, and smaller Red Striped Cardinals, due to pattern similarity, I assume just in passing. He is great though, and can get a lot down that lil longnose.

This little fish does great in a 55 gallon, the most peaceful thing in the tank. He loves to be fed. Also, he withstood one ich attack. He does great!

This has to be one of the best saltwater aquarium fish ever. I have one in my 65 gallon tank. Ate my Arrow Crab but other than that, it is a great fish with a great personality. Very peaceful. Great addition to any tank?

A new family favorite. I put him in a 125, I had to move him to my 70 because my trigger was chasing him around. He likes to perch on my red sea star for camofouge purposes. They wont harm coral, but they may perch on it, which shouldnt cause any problems. Highley reccomended!!!

One of my all time favorite fish, very active in the tank, watching and coming out to greet all visitors. Outstanding personality and very hardy.
