Overview
Because of its small size and peaceful nature, the Celestial Pearl Danio does best in a peaceful community aquarium or a well-planted aquarium of at least 10 gallons. To best recreate the natural habitat of the Celestial Pearl Danio, provide rocks, driftwood, and ample plant cover. The Celestial Pearl Danio should be kept in a small school consisting of 6 individuals. Ideal tankmates include peaceful fish, such as other danio species.
The male Celestial Pearl Danio will have brighter coloration and a more streamlined body. The anal fin of the male Celestial Pearl Danio is notably more orange and will have a black band. In contrast, the female is more subdued in overall coloration and has a rounder body. The Celestial Pearl Danio is an omnivore that will eat commercially prepared flaked foods and algae as well as freeze-dried daphnia, bloodworms, tubifex, and brine shrimp.
