Overview

Poetry in motion painted with pastel pinks and golden sunshine, the Yellowtail Reef Basslet is an eye-catching addition to the home saltwater aquarium. Its elongated body is adorned in pinkish purple splashed with rich yellow around the mouth, caudal fin, and tail. The eye is ringed with a contrasting indigo blue.

Pristine water quality is key to keeping this ornate beauty happy and healthy. An excellent reef-dwelling fish, the Yellowtail Reef Basslet may only pose a threat to tiny, ornamental crustaceans. Provide at least a 30-gallon aquarium with plenty of live rock for a single individual.

As a carnivore, the Yellowtail Reef Basslet will thrive on a diet of meaty foods such as vitamin-enriched brine and mysis shrimp, and other frozen carnivore preparations. Feed the Yellowtail Reef Basslet multiple times daily.

Approximate Purchase Size: Small: 1" to 2"; Medium: 2" to 3"
