Overview
The Macneill's Assessor Basslet, also referred to as MacNeill's Mini Grouper or Blue Assessor Basslet, is entirely dusky dark blue. This is an excellent choice for reef aquariums.
For a single Macneill's Assessor Basslet, provide at least a 30 gallon tank - larger for more individuals and plenty of rock caves for hiding. Due to its aggression and being territorial, it is best to keep only one male Blue Assessor Basslet.
As a carnivore, the Macneill's Assessor Basslet will thrive on a diet of meaty foods such as finely chopped fresh or frozen marine fish, squid, mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, and frozen carnivore preparations. Feed at least twice a day.

Macneill's Assessor Basslet is a beautiful dark blue fish. He made a great addition to our 75-gallon reef tank. Mine is very hardy and aggressive (as these fish are known to be). I feed him zooplankton soaked in Garlic Xtreme and he loves it.
