The ideal environment for the corals included in the Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral is an established reef aquarium with coral-friendly fish and invertebrates. Provide bright lighting conditions achieved with T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides. Under the right conditions, the growth rate of Acropora corals is much more rapid than most other corals found in an established reef aquarium.

To maximize the growth rate of the corals in your Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral 3 Pack, it is imperative to maintain a high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, and to keep phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. If conditions are ideal, these coral frags can eventually be cultured and grown into a new colony from living fragments or broken pieces.

In addition to high lighting conditions and near pristine water quality, corals in the Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral benefit from strong, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This is best accomplished with a wavemaker and multiple powerheads. For continued good health, corals in the Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral require the addition of calcium, strontium, iodine, magnesium supplements, as well as trace elements.

All of the corals in the Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral contain symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within their bodies. This algae provides these corals the majority of their nutritional requirements. However, corals in the Assorted Aussie Acropora Coral will also benefit from feedings of phytoplankton and zooplankton a few times per week.
