The Pink Birdsnest Coral is a lovely pink color variety of the popular Birdsnest Coral featuring pink polyps and pale growth tips that gives it a cheerful, luminous appearance. Lower branches of Pink Birdsnest Coral colonies tend to grow out and then curve downward, giving large colonies an interesting “weeping willow” appearance. Thanks to it beautiful coloration and unique growing habit, the Pink Birdsnest Coral makes a wonderful addition to any established reef system that will benefit from additional color and texture.

The Pink Birdsnest Coral (also known as the Seriatopora Bird's Nest, Needle, Finger, or Brush Coral) is a relatively easy to maintain SPS coral that makes a great candidate for moderately-experienced SPS reef aquarists. Under ideal conditions, the Pink Birdsnest Coral is extremely fast growing. Care should be taken in the placement of the Pink Birdsnest Coral as this coral is very fragile. Fortunately, any broken tips will quickly regrow in weeks.

The Pink Birdsnest Coral requires high lighting conditions achieved by T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides combined with medium to strong water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, the Pink Birdsnest Coral will benefit from the addition of calcium, strontium, iodine, magnesium and trace elements to the water column.

The photosynthetic symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within the Pink Birdsnest Coral satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements. However, the Pink Birdsnest Coral will benefit from supplemental feedings of micro-plankton and other foods designed for filter-feeding invertebrates.

The Pink Birdsnest Coral is attached to a plastic plug and can be easily placed in holes or between the rockwork of the reef aquarium.
