Overview

The Dragon Cobra Guppy is a vibrantly colored ornamental fish that has been developed through years of painstaking research and selective breeding. Part of our Fancy Guppy line, this species will add a lot of interest to your aquaria. Vibrantly colored red, blue and yellow, they have dorsal and tail fins that remind you of fire leaving a dragon’s mouth. Additional interest is added with the cobra snake-like markings on the same fins.

A smaller freshwater fish (1-3/4” at maturity), this species can make its home in tank sizes of 10 gallons or more. The Dragon Cobra Guppy is active, has a peaceful nature, and gets along well with tankmates of a similar temperament. These guppies are sure to add plenty of color and activity to your community aquarium.

Hardy and resilient, they are a great option for both beginners and advanced enthusiasts who maintain optimal water conditions. They are live bearing fish and are fairly easy to breed when provided with a covering of floating plants and a breeding box to protect the fry from adults. The fry should be fed brine shrimp, micro food, and pulverized flakes. For adults, algae-based flake food, along with brine shrimp, freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex make for excellent nutrition.
