Overview
The Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral is a remarkable green color variety of the popular Birdsnest Coral. The gorgeous green coloration accentuated with green polyps is very appealing and alluring. Combined with its characteristic growth habit of developing very thin intertwining branches, the Certified Captive Grown Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral makes a note-worthy addition to any mature reef system that will benefit from great texture and color.
The Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral is also referred to as Seriatopora Bird's Nest, Needle, Finger, or Brush Coral. It is a relatively fast growing species of small polyp stony (SPS) coral with very delicate, thin branches. Care should be taken in the placement of the coral to protect it from physical damage.
The Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral requires high aquarium lighting conditions achieved by T-5s, powerful LEDs or the more intense metal halides. To maximize growth rate, maintain high pH, alkalinity and calcium levels, as well as high water quality with phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. Along with proper lighting and water quality, the Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral will benefit from moderate to strong water movement.
The Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. While it may not require additional food to maintain its health in the reef aquarium, the Enchanted Forest Green Birdsnest Coral will feed on micro-plankton or foods designed for filter-feeding invertebrates.
Our CCGC Enchanted Forrest Green Birdsnest Coral frag is mounted on a small fired ceramic plug that can be placed easily and securely in or between the rockwork in the reef aquarium.
