Overview
Create a diverse aquarium ecosystem with greater convenience with the inclusive LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit. This fantastic kit includes four varieties of freshwater aquatic life carefully selected for compatibility and ease-of-care, making it easier for novice or beginner aquarium hobbyists to stock and aquascape their freshwater aquarium. The LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit includes the following aquatic life for a colorful and diverse aquarium display: (1) Male Kohaku Guppy (Poecilia reticulata), (2) Female Kohaku Guppy (Poecilia reticulata), (1) Blue Velvet Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi), (2) Zebra Nerita Snail (Neritina sp.) or (2) Freshwater Clams, and (1) Dwarf Anubias Plant (Anubias nana).
In addition to their beautiful ornamental quality, invertebrate species included in the LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit are highly-prized for their efficient aquarium-cleaning services. These algae and/or detritus-eating species help keep your aquarium looking cleaner between scheduled routine aquarium maintenance by offering a natural solution to common aquarium maintenance concerns including nuisance algae. Their purposeful pursuit of algae and organic debris is sure to inject lively activity to your freshwater aquarium setup.
The ideal setup for the species included in the LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit is an established freshwater aquarium with proper filtration and high water quality at least 10 gallons in size. To provide the best environment for your Blue Velvet Shrimp and Dwarf Anubias plant, use substrate designed specifically for ornamental shrimp and live plants. The Dwarf Anubias plant will arrive potted, so be sure to gently extract the Dwarf Anubias plant from the pot and carefully remove the mineral wool floss before planting. Pay careful attention not to plant your Dwarf Anubias plant too deep in the substrate, making sure the crown and portion of the rhizome is exposed above the substrate. For best long-term care maintain high water quality by performing regular, routine water changes.
Also keep in mind that like all invertebrates, the Blue Velvet Shrimp is sensitive to copper. Therefore copper-based medications should never be used in aquariums housing ornamental invertebrates. Do not house species included in the LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit in aquariums with aggressive fish or loaches, puffers, and other larger carnivores that will feed on invertebrates.
The species included in the LiveAquaria® Beginner Guppy Kit are omnivores and require a varied and well-balanced diet, which includes quality flake foods, sinking pellets, freeze-dried, frozen, and live foods, as well as algae wafers and other high-quality plant based foods.
